Lighting Maintenance

On-SITE’s lighting maintenance solution address many areas of cleaning.  To ensure you receive the appropriate amount and type of cleaning desired, a solution will be customized for you.

A solution is the combination of methods or cleaning techniques supported by appropriate chemicals to accomplish a specific goal.

Lighting Maintenance provides benefits in energy management and illumination.  No matter what benefit      you target, the other is also present.

Energy saving can be realized by having clean light elements so 100% of the light emitted is usable.  This may result in using a dimmer setting or using less lighting sources.  On-SITE’s maintenance efforts ensure clean elements and the replacement of burned out bulbs with high efficiency elements.

Illumination can be affected by dirty bulbs, degrading elements, and dirty fixtures all of which impacts the beauty of the light source.  On-SITE’s maintenance efforts, like those discussed for energy management, can address the level of illumination and the overall beauty of the fixture.

The beauty of a light fixture is created by reflecting light, emitted from the lamp, off of the body of the fixture and the ornaments hanging from the fixture.  Anything that impinges this reflection will reduce the brilliance of the illumination.

The cleaning process addresses both the fixture and the ornaments.  By removing the ornaments, if any, the body of the fixture is exposed.  Typically it is fabricated from metal and plated with chrome, brass or other highly reflective metals that polish well.  Tarnish and dirt is removed using a non-corrosive chemical/polish and buffed until the luster reappears.

Dirty bulbs are typically the result of dust baked onto the bulb surface from the heat during illumination and reduce light emission by as much as 40% so not only is there less light but energy consumption increase as you turn on more lights fixtures.

The ornaments introduced into the future are typically made of material to refract light to

increase brilliance.  Glass crystal or other reflective material is fabricated with multiple

facets incorporated into its surface causing light to reflect in multiple angles.  The increased

surface area provides for more dirt build-up and reduction in brilliance.

The cleaning process involves chemically removing the dirt to allow maximum refraction of the light emitted by the bulbs.  This process can be very tedious as there can be hundreds of ornaments incorporated into a fixture.

Bulb replacement can be quite tedious as they are typically found within the heart of the fixture.  To access them typically requires the fixture be disassembled and the wide variety of shapes and sizes can present a real challenge.

The location of a fixture can vary, so replacement of bulbs can be a difficult and time consuming task. Special equipment as extension ladders , ladder trucks, cherry pickers, scuffles, etc. many be required so many times replacement is not accomplished.

On-SITE offers replacement service for those difficult to reach light fixtures.  We use the

techniques outlined by the bulb manufacturer to ensure proper installation so whether it be

incandescent, fluorescent, halogen or something else, you can rest assured that the job will

be done properly.
